RT-1070 Question bout the controller location

Looking at the 1070 and comparing it to other RecTeqs it appears that the 1070's controller is just below the cooking chamber and not off to the side of the heat source like on the 590 or the 700. Has anyone experienced any problems with the controller electronics getting too hot and causing weird side affects?

I'm just wondering if that is something to be concerned with. This will be a huge purchase for me and If I screw it up and have a lot of issues with the smoker my wife will never let me hear the end of it. At this price point I can't afford to make a mistake.

When I took the control panel off for inspection, I found that the bottom of the cook barrel is heavily insulated to prevent heat transfer into the mechanical and control area. You can feel almost no heat on the panel that holds the controls when doing a hot cook!!! No problemo !
