So the more I use my BFG the more questions I have. Just wondering if any owners here have done many baked goods in BFG. Pizza pies cakes etc. I have tried 2 pizzas, one great, one terrible the 2nd was terrible cause at 450 degrees my grille is smoking a bit not good smoke, turned pizza dough gray/black. It's either burning grease somewhere possibly or something. Changed pellets, recteq had me update firmware, little better but still smoke at high temp, have cleaned fairly well. Just wanted to know what experience others have had, do your grills smoke on high heat settings. As others you see little smoke at lower settings, just wanted to be able to do pizzas in it, without running it through a car wash every time before using lol

Yup mine does too, but I rarely cook above 300. The soot is from whatever is on the grill grates and especially on the drip pan, make sure super clean and then do a high temp burn off before cooking pizza?

I've experienced this as well. I've solved it to my satisfaction by running for a good 20 - 30 minutes at 450 - 500 before introducing any food to the party. That pre-cook burn off solved my issues.
