Bull Showdawg's Bull RT700 mods

Whats the benefit of the lidseal on the hopper? First time I've seen that in my lurking around here
Not sure if it helps keep moisture out of the hopper or not. I just had extra, so I used it. I suppose technically it has to stop some air from getting in as opposed to not having it sealed. But how much I can't say or if it's enough to affect the pellet storage. Can't hurt* haHa

Can you do a write up on the sear station mod? I'd love to see instructions and more pictures please. Just ordered my bull and this is on my list of things I want to do as soon as I get it
I removed the factory handle and used same mounting holes to attach aluminum to side of grill. You need to move it out enough from the smoke stack or you won't be able to open the grill. I installed 2 supports back to the cart to stiffen up the camp chef. I then took the original handle and remounted it to the camp chef. These also have the option to change the orfice to convert to natural gas which is what I did. It works really well getting to 900 deg on cast iron grates.

Not my work. I found this on an audio site I belong to. I’ll see if I can get details but a clean install is possible on the smaller unit

That's awesome! Can we get more pictures and close ups? I'm not very handy so trying to do as much prep and research as I can before my bull arrives. I'm like your mod vs some of the other's i've seen because I didn't want to drill any additional holes into the barrel of the bull

I wanted to have searing a little quicker. So I added the Camp Chef sear station to the side. Had to add some aluminum from home Depot where the handle mounts to clear the stack. Was able to reattach the handle on the side of the sear station. I also added a cord reel under the controller.

You really buried the lead on the searing station. Would love more pics of your mod close up please.

I think the lid seal is to help hold in smoke, heat and maybe moisture. As for searing I have a high end stainless burner on my fish, turkey fryer. I will just use that with a cast iron skillet.
