I've got my rt-1250 order in.
When I saw one of the videos posted on this site, the presenter was stating that "they even say you can put wood chips or pellets on the heat deflector to get some more smoke." I am not 100% sold on this idea, so I'm curious if others in here think that's a good...
I had a heart-stopping experience, but fixed it. I thought it may be of use to anyone on here.
I just got my RT-700 and for my 3rd cook, invited a whole bunch of people over. The cook had to start at 4AM so when I went out there, and set everything up and plugged it in, it kept throwing the...
The Bull was assembled, connected to wifi, burned in and then I cooked chicken thighs at 400. The thighs came out fairly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Ready for a low and slow cook but that probably won't happen this weekend as a tropical storm is heading this way, so maybe...
I called rec teq and asked if the faster 3rpm auger motor from the bfg would work in the 700 (2rpm) and was told that it will and that they are actually testing that motor for a future upgrade for the 700. so i ordered one and it was a simple install. my grill now heats up at near gas grill...
What side tends to run hotter on the Bull? I haven’t bothered with a bread/biscuit test. I’ve always heard the smoke stack side was hotter but didn’t know if that was true.
Put the RT-590 together this afternoon and connected to Wifi. I will do the burn in tomorrow and hopefully some ribs this weekend.
My plan is to use the RecTeq 590 to replace my smoker and my gas grill.
Picked up the following accessories:'
Grill Grates
Cover
Grill Brush
Front Shelf...
Nearly three years ago I detailed how I modified my stock recteq (rectec at the time) bull smoker in the How to do the Rec Tec wheel mod. This mod worked pretty well but there were a few things that started to bother me - such as the air up tires and having to make sure they were at the proper...
I've had my 590 for a couple months now, and loving it. However, today I smoked a couple chickens and the greased splattered on the inside of the lid and the grease accumulated and dripped out and down onto the patio--quite a bit of it. Not cool. The lid seems to shut tight, so I was...
Did some ribs tonight on the Bull. Everything started fine, but about 3 hours into the cook the Bull starts running at 260 instead of the 225 where I had it set. So for grins, I dropped it to 180 to see what happens. She stayed right on 260 area. I then shut it down and restarted. 180 set and...
Got my Bullseye a lil over a week ago.
1st impression was it is short and kind of flimsy. was EZ to assemble.
Its not very user friendly to get started. < i am sure the getting started will be worked out once i learn how we dance together.
The Bullseye once up to temp is a great grill.
it...
Hi from south Louisiana. Was wondering how many butts you can smoke on a rt700. I have 9 to cook was wondering if I need to do 2 cooks. I do have the second shelf. I can raise it up by adding something to the bottom of the folding legs to give me the extra height. Any pointers I just got my bull...
Trying to decide between the 700 or 590. It’s just me, my wife and son. I really like the look and build of the 700 with the smoke stack. Just done know if i need something that big. Any suggestions?
I have grilled bone in turkey breasts on my BGE for the last 16 years and they turn out great. Grill at 325 for 21/2 hours to 3 depending on size.
Now that i have my Bull, any input on how you have cooked these?
Thanks
Just got the Stampede this weekend. Put it together, burned it in and did the first cook.
Assembly:
Went together fairly easy. I got the cart since it was 50% off and honestly just looked cool. Glad I did as the wheels are just really heavy duty and make moving it around (which I will be doing...
Order the Stampede RT-590 at the end of June when they were on backorder for two weeks. It shipped on 7/15/2020 and is out for delivery today! Couldn't be more excited to join the Rec Tec Family. I've heard amazing things about the products and customer service. So happy I returned my Traeger...
I tried some chicken. I soaked it first in Zesty Italian dressing, then coated one side in Simply Marvelous cherry rub. The other side was covered in Kosmos Honey Killer Bee. I put the Bull at Xtreme smoke for 40 minutes. I should have did an hour in Xtreme, but I was short on time. Then up to...
I ordered a Stampede and am now waiting. I have been looking at recipes trying to decide what to try first. What was your first cook and what do you recommend for me to try?
