Stampede LavaLock gasket install on 590

I assembled my RT-590 today and installed a LavaLock gasket. I put it all around the underside of the lid and now the lid doesn't seem to lay right at the bends. The lower bend in the lid is the one tht is the worst aas I can see inside the cooking chamber. Does anyone have this issue? Should I not apply it to the sides of the lid? Anyone got pics of their gasket install?

I'm holding off on the burn in to address this issue so I'm waiting for your responses.

Try loosening the screws holding the hinges in place and jiggling things around a bit; then re-tighten with the lid closed. Sometimes, you just have to get things properly settled in place.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into that. I didn't check to see how well it fit before we installed the gasket. It arrived about 6 pm yesterday and it rained afterword then the power went out. So I didn't get to the assembly until this morning.other day before burn in won't hurt.

Agree on adjusting the hinges for a better fit, I had to fine tune mine and the lid fits perfectly. What thickness gasket did you use?

Ok, that should work well, adjust the hinges, I asked because they also make it in 1/4" which may cause lid fitment issues.

I also fine-tuned the hinges when mine arrived and got the lid fit spot on, then installed my lavalock and the fit was perfect.
