Still wondering, if Teflon coating it would work ! ? !
Or would the Coating give-off harmful Fumes at hi-temp ?
I know they use to say bad things about the old style Teflon Frying Pans, back in the day

It wouldn't be my choice. The coatings used for cookware have changed to avoid certain potentially harmful compounds, but I've read PTFE degrades at higher temps.

I also use multi layers of foil on my drip pan, but even that isn't enough for me. I will usually also cook on foil or in a pan as the smoke can still access the food from the top. And I cook a lot of non grill friendly food like ground beef for my chili to give it a nice smokey flavor. If i need to keep my meat out of the fluids i just put a rack in the pan. I grill all the time and when I cook fish, I don't want my beef or chicken to have a fishy flavor. I also use those small foil pans to cook my vegi's in on the grill. Pizza is the only thing I really cook on the grill.

I give up on foil a while back and now I just scrap the drip pan when(if) I clean the grill, lol. It will never get back to clean stainless, but still works.
