Connecting to Wifi

This evening I disabled the 5Ghz part of our WiFi. After doing that I was able to connect the app on my phone to the smoker. I then enabled the 5Ghz. I now have access to the WiFi feature of my Recteq.

LOL, my Orbi mesh router system is fairly new. I think a lot of the newer routers are that way. Do you think @Mike if the ISP who owns the modem can turn off 5 Ghz at their end for the modem or is that a router function only?

I have an Orbi mesh system at my main house. When I connected a wifi thermometer, I accessed the Orbi on the computer and disabled SSID broadcast for the 5 ghz. After I had my thermometer connected to the 2.4 ghz, I enabled the 5 ghz SSID broadcast again.

My WiFi Honeywell is old and I was on a different router when I installed it. Didn't have any issues that I remember setting her up. I think my router back then was 2.4 GHz only.
