I got a 20+ pounder butterball turkey. I'm looking to spatchcock and smoke. Not sure what kind of rub would be best for this. I believe it comes brined already.

Do you want it to be Thanksgiving or County fair turkey leg tasting turkey?
The recteq video is great for spatchcock turkey.
You can go sweet, hot, savory - depends on your mood. Most important thing is BUTTER!

Yes, the Butterballs are injected/brined.

As far as a rub, the sky's the limit depending upon what you want the turkey to taste like. When I'm doing a "traditional" Thanksgiving style turkey, I like Lawman - The Joint (Garlic Butter). I've also used Lawman - Deputy Coach (Lemon Pepper). I like these as you can still taste the meat and they are more like compliments than driving flavor profiles.

Lots of people swear by the Meat Church stuff. Of course you can go nuts with more extreme flavors as well depending upon your audience.

I ordered a Kosmos BBQ brine kit for mine and it comes with the brine and a bag, Dirty Bird rub and a after glaze sauce. I was amazing! Best turkey I have ever cooked.
