Just finished my wheel mod. 5” castors on the front and 12” fixed wheels on the back. Using 12” wheels keeps you from trying to drill the old axles out. Just cut them off, your wheels will be above the old axles

In keeping with the topic, “Best RT700 Wheel Mod”, I offer up the best mod is the Competition Cart. Works perfectly out of the box, doesn’t require any trips to the hardware store and it is rock sold even when loading the smoker into the back of a truck for travel/competition. Just something to consider, lol.

I would beg to differ. While the competition cart is a nice upgrade, I, personally, am very fond of my custom RT-700 cart. :D ;)

A setup like that not only gives you the lockable swivel wheels like the comp cart but actually gives you useable storage too.

Now that said, the comp cart is a nice upgrade over the stock setup. :)
