I had a temperature fluctuation and I’m wondering if I’m understanding what happened. I cook something at a very high temperature. Then need to cook something at a lower temperature. Instead of leaving the lid closed after I turn down the temperature and letting it come down naturally I left the lid open until the temperature was correct. I then put my food on and the temperature started to increase dramatically. Did me doing that confuse the computer into thinking it needed more pellets?
Eventually after a while the temperature came down.
Was that the wrong way to bring the temperature down?

I've not tried cooling with the lid open but would suspect the probe would cool down a lot quicker with the lid open then below the grease tray. Close the lid and the temp would bounce up as the grill equalizes. When the temp rises above the set point the grill would work at cooling it.
