RT-300 Removing paint from barrel

Has anyone removed the paint from the barrel the RT 340 model is bare paint and what I can see under the 300 is bare stainless as well. Looking for a way to remove to eliminate the already flaking surface. Also looking to replace control since it only stays on for 30 minutes at a time.

Sandblaster, borrowed a friends. Not used on grill but works good for complete paint removal.

I started using a brush stripper it doing the trick for sure.
