My Latest Grill Acquisition

I’ve cooked on simiar devices. The key is to build your fire on the outer edges and let the heat create a chimney effect. I can’t tell from the pics but are there any vents on the sides near the bottom? Also, depending on the vintage of the cooker, you may want to have a spare brick or any fragments checked for asbestos. For many years it was used in fire bricks and for applications like this. Can’t wait to see what comes off your grill.
