General Note #1: Our Rec Tec Trailblazer was not injured (or used) in this cook.
General Note #2: To the forum admin: Please don’t throw me out of the forum for a “non Rec Tec Trailblazer” post.

This is simply how we grilled out MOST of the time before purchasing our beloved Rec Tec Trailblazer RT-340. Specifically, the back patio which faces Whiskey Cove on Lake Balboa in Hot Springs Village. Someday I'll figure out how to provide a “weather safe” environment for my grills and patio furniture, as I’d really like to have ALL of them out on the patio looking over the lake.

  • Grill Location: Hot Springs Village, AR.; 34 37 60.0N 92 54 55.4W - a late Friday afternoon, “Hey, lets do burgers & tots”, out on the patio, let’s do charcoal…...

    • Meat on at 17:40 CDT
    • Meat off 17:52 wife sayeth, "they’re done"….)
Sides:
  • Tater Tots: Walmart Brand - “Great Value”…… Mayonnaise/Sriracha Sauce blend…..(our favorite tater tot dipping stuff)

Misc Grill Observations - all times are CDT
  • OEM Smokey Joe Grill, very “seasoned”, but brushed and olive oil sprayed prior to burger placement
  • Cooking Temp ???F (really hot, I'd guess close to 500F) is perfect for this grill!
  • Grill did a great job of cooking these burgers as it has for the last year!

General Comments:

  • Maybe it’s because of comfort, but the burgers off the Smokey Joe just seem to taste better.
  • Grill performance was as expected.
  • Grill Support tool was a recently purchased Tito’s Vodka/Cranberry Juice Cocktail blend, mixed in a modified Grey Goose Vodka Bottle bottom made into a drink glass….
