Someone mentioned someplace that he used Acetone to clean his stainless steel. Has anyone tried that?

I have used acetone and it works great. It really dissolves the stains quickly. I just use it with a paper towel but I suspect using it with a Scotch pad for any really heavy stains would be a breeze. Just make sure you're in a well ventilated location, though.
