Stampede GMG pizza oven is awesome

Muffler shop could take stainless exhaust pipe and make it a slip fit if you bring in the GMG so they can size it right. Unless you know how to weld - the welding route could cost you as much as the pizza oven... unless you know a guy. ;)

Additional thought: The other end that sits on the burn pot could be flared just a touch bigger than the hole size of the firepot - so it just rests on the flange of the pot. It's stainless resting on stainless.

Sorry, you're right, not lead, but zinc and or other anti corrosive chemicals, regardless, I would not use stovepipe inside the cookbox without knowing exactly what's it's made from.
I thought the galvanized was bad news when heated?

Just got the 1070 and broke it in… made some chicken lollipops… turned out great… really hoping we can get the pizza oven to work!

Yes, 100% sure it is the 4023 model made for the Jim Bowie/Daniel Boone Grills. As you can see from the picture, and as Greg pointed out, the firepot sits flush with the bottom on the RT-1070. We'll need to make up the difference and am looking into parts to extend it into the fire pot!
Did you get a chance to try it out without extending the pipe first? Definitely want to get this Pizza Oven in the near future! Thanks!

I did try it out on Monday. I used a tin can as a Macguyver type solution and it mostly worked. I struggled getting it up to 6-700 degrees but as you can see in the pictures I attached, it worked even at lower temps (pardon the misshapen one, the dough stuck to the peel, go figure).
I am waiting for a specific part to come today that I am hoping will be a longer term solution. I'll keep everyone posted.

Pizza looks great, the one the got stuck to the peel has a nice char so your work-around is working, though many tin cans should not be heated around food.

Heating steel cans could release chromium and nickel. You could be exposed to BPAs from the plastic lining inside of the can, as well.

What's the "specific part" you ordered?

The one that got stuck was the last one in, so oven was hot!

We checked that extensively before trying it and there was no plastic lining but I agree, I would not do it more than once as you can't be 100% sure of the metal makeup.
I have been looking at exhaust pipe reducers as they are made for high heat applications. So far, I have not found the right size yet and will need to modify the next one as it will be too long. The gap is ~3.75" from the top of the fire pot to the bottom of the pizza oven. The flange that comes with the oven is ~1.5 inches so we have anywhere from 3.75' if we slip fit over the flange up to the oven or ~2.25' if we extend.

Maybe you can find something like this on a homebrewing website? Obviously this isn't the perfect size, just an idea for sourcing something that might work. It's 304 stainless.

Isn't chrome plating toxic when heated?
It depends on what it’s made of. It says here that this item is polished stainless steel? Nickel chrome plating shouldn’t cause too much issue when heated with a flame. Obviously, anyone with a nickel allergy should beware. Zinc with a clear coat finish would be problematic. I’m not sure about anything else.

Oh, I saw chrome mentioned. Good catch on the polished stainless (y)

You’re absolutely right- it’s pretty ambiguous. I’d inspect it pretty closely upon receipt. I personally wouldn’t feel comfortable with “mystery chrome.”

So I guess the question is what is the flange that comes with the GMG oven made of as well. Some of the other parts I have looked at, were of similar makeup but you are never 100% sure I suppose.
The part you suggested @SmokeOCD is almost $100 which really puts this solution in another price category I suppose. It also flanges on the top and will most likely be too long.
If it protrudes too much into the bottom of the funnel you will get hotspots on the stone and uneven heating. We are working with a minimal space gap that we are trying to fill. I am open to suggestions but here is my quick ugly drawing of the issue we are trying to solve - I am open to any other ideas to make this work (these are not exact measurements but close enough to get the idea):

You must have looked at Grainger for pricing; that's for people where price is no object. And be fair... I said "something like this". How about this $20 hunk of stainless: amazon link - not sure if you can cut stainless.
It's 3 5/8 inches tall. I keep looking at the flared ones so at least the bottom would sit on the mounting plate, but you can just search for stainless spool to find straight up and down ones.

If the reducer you order works, I'm sure we can source a steel alternative...

I have a Camp Chef pizza oven and love it, but if I were in the market for a pizza oven today I would also look at the Ooni models. Is it too late to return the GMG oven?

Great find and I should have generalized my search a bit more. These do look like they might work and are more food grade than what I have been looking at or at least they state "sanitary grade" (whatever that really means). They might just work as well. Remember we are filling a 3 3/4 space, these are slightly shorter but we are getting closer for sure. I have decided we need to slip fit over the flange for this to work.

Amazon is going to hate me or close my account at some point if I keep sending items back lol
