So did a smoke for super bowl sunday and it was the first time I used the smoker when we had some good sustained wind. The smoker is used mostly in my shop with the roll up door open and the 3 vents facing the opened roll up.
What I noticed is that when a gust would come up the temp in the chamber would drop quite a bit and quickly. Something I've never experienced with a stick burner and single smoke stack.
So question is, has anyone else notice this and or has anyone closed up one or more of the smoke vents? Think I may fab up some hoods for the vents that can open and close to control chamber temps and cut down on how much heat and smoke loss they allow.. Any thoughts on that as well?
