Seasoning Recteq stainless steel BBQ trays before first use and periodically after?

Is it helpful to season (with high-smoke-point oil [or?]) the Recteq SS BBQ trays?

I know that it is not the same as seasoning cast iron as a way to both protect the iron and add flavor for subsequent cooks, but does leaving a "patina" on SS help with clean up and flavor?

Kind regards,

Eventually burning residue leaves a flavor . So yes on everything you said /asked.

Yes, stainless steel cookware can be seasoned to create a non-stick coating. Seasoning involves applying a thin layer of oil to the cooking surface, which is similar to cast iron. The oil and heat bond together to fill in the pores on the surface, creating a semi-nonstick surface.
