Bull Grease pan platform not sealed - leaks

Hi, the platform where the drip pan rests and diverts grease to the outlet is not sealed on my new RT700. It was making a mess on the inside of the barrel, and also leaks to the outside where the streaks meet the outlet. RecTeq says this is normal and the leaks will seal themselves with more grease and smoke. I find that a bit dubious and lining it with foil and punching a hole to let the grease go out the spout.

Can anyone confirm if this is expected?

I've never noticed it on mine.

Get some RTV silicone and seal it yourself. You'll have to clean the area up, but it can be done.
