Just bought my first pellet grill (RT-700). Watched many videos. Do burgers need to be flipped or not when on regular grating? on Sear Kit? Also whats a good medium rare temperature? Thanks

i don’t flip on a normal rack. just grill mine at 350 until i hit 145. it has some pink at that temp. if you want smoke flavor cook at 275 or less. lower temp=more smoke flavor

with sear kit i like to cook at 450 flat side up and flip once i get the char im looking for on the bottom

I cook my burgers at 450 on the regular grates and I flip them. With the heat source below, and cooking at high temps, I find I get a more even cook with good color on both sides.

I believe it a personal preference. But I cook mine on GrillGrates @ 500 degrees. I cook for about 4 minutes on each side (flipping) and then done. Perfect burgers! :D

Yeah, I'll flip them when on the GrillGrates, but not when I'm "just smoking" them
Here you go:
R= 120 - 125
MR= 130 - 135
M= 140 - 145
MW- 150 - 155
W= 160 - 165
And then there's "Burnt" :eek:
