    Bone-in or out pork shoulders

So yesterday I smoked 4 10 pound pork shoulders and was curious about something. I typically do bone-in shoulders but I made this for a friend and he bought boneless. They cooked pretty normal throughout the cook but seemed strange during shredding. I cooked them just like I normally would...

    Devilled Eggs

I had a few eggs left and always wondered what smoked eggs would taste like. I have to admit I was rather impressed. I am not a big fan of eggs but really liked these. Went ahead and did devilled eggs and they are wonderful. Smoked eggs at 225 for two hours. Added mayo, mustard, salt, and...

Got the idea to try an apple pie in my RecTeq yesterday. Had enough apples to make two of them. I highly recommend! One of the best pies I have ever ate. Sorry no pictures. Pies didn't last long enough.

    Hard lesson learned.

So last night I was cooking kabobs and roasted potatoes on the 590. Turned out great minus the fact that I made a big mistake and forgot to check the hopper to ensure I had pellets. Nothing like looking down and seeing the temp had dropped from 400 to 150. Then taking everything out of the...

    Steak question

So last night I cooked a couple NY strips on the 590. I thought they turned out perfect and was one of the best I ever ate. My better half was not as impressed. I cooked them at 250 degrees. Her issue was the fact it had a reddish tint to the finished product. I attributed this to the low...

Got my RT-590 yesterday. Got it all put together. Had a couple of minor issues but I called and they have already shipped out the correction. Have to give customer service a lot of credit. Very strong. Did the burn-in. Got Wi-Fi set up today and I am amazed. I am 15 miles away from it and can...
