The butt turned out phenomenally. A friend was just out of the hospital after a 5 day stay for a perforated appendix, so the leftovers went over to help feed her hungry boys. I don't think the husband left any! Very good!

I added beans to my first ribs cook on my 700, and they came out GREAT!!! This time all I did was match the temp that I'd used with the ribs from that last time, expecting the same results...and had no where near the same smoke flavor. In fact, I couldn't taste smoke. Very odd.

Glad to hear that about Lumberjack pellets. I didnt get enough smoke the other day on my 4th of July baked beans using RT competition pellets, and I baked them at 245 for 3.5 hours. I'm trying some Lumberjack.

So Lumberjack Competition pellets are decent? I've found them at Rurals for 8.89 per 20lb. bag? RecTec wants 40 bucks a bag? WHA...?

I've had my RT700 since Saturday, so I'm not much of an authority, but I purchased the folding front shelf. I also bought the smokebox. My wife likes smoked cheese.

Hey guys. I brought home an RT700 home from Georgia Sunday. I've done chicken (turned out great) and then ribs (not so great). They smoked up perfectly, but my home-made rub recipe wasn't the best. So what do you guys like? There are so many commercial rubs out there. What's the top 3?

I tried some chicken. I soaked it first in Zesty Italian dressing, then coated one side in Simply Marvelous cherry rub. The other side was covered in Kosmos Honey Killer Bee. I put the Bull at Xtreme smoke for 40 minutes. I should have did an hour in Xtreme, but I was short on time. Then up to...

It's all together, its loaded and ready for burn-in. I can't get the smokebox door handle all the way in, but dang it, I'm firing it up anyway!!!

Has anyone ran into this problem? I can't get the smokebox handle to insert all the way. It'll go in about 2/3rds of the way, then bind up... I can't force it in any more. I tried cleaning the hole out with a round file, but no luck. I may have to dream out the hole with a half-inch drill bit...

I just made it back from Georgia and I have an RT700 with smokebox and folding front shelf in my trailer! Its 10 p.m. though, and I'm beat. I'll do the unboxing and set it up in the morning. It was a long drive from Georgia to Rochester Hills Michigan.

Hey guys. I'm headed to Georgia this Thursday for a multiple of reasons. I live in Michigan, and my son and his family live in Georgia. I have a new baby granddaughter, so, I figured I might as well pick up an RT700 while I visit my new little Shelly Rae! The plan is to make my purchase this...
