Thanks all. Looks like I've got a few things to try. I'm using Rec Tec pellets right now, so I have to assume that's not the problem.

Yes, I've started to cover with a generic cover.

Upstate New York. It's been humid, but others in humid areas have reported no issues with moisture in hopper. The pellets at top of hopper never show any sign of moisture.

Never thought to look since it's inside the lid and out of site. Just peaked and it's now half black (what's exposed to smoke) and and had gray. Never would have noticed if I didn't look.

I've had my Bull for just over a month and today is the second time "sawdust" in the bottom of the hopper has collected and hardened up in enough quantity to stop the auger from turning. The first time I figured was my fault for dumping the dust at the bottom of my pellet bag into the hopper...

I got tired of waiting and picked this one up on Amazon. It's not a perfect fit, but covers the 700 nicely. The first one I got was $65 (different seller) and it's now less than $30. Just picked up a second for my Weber grill...

I was going to post the same. I've been checking a few times a day and was caught surprise when I saw it right at the top. Ordered mine.

So I calibrated my new 700 this morning and found probe was reading 4 degrees too high. But it's not the probe it appears to be the port. When I switched the probes in port A and B, the discrepancy did not change. To me that means the probes themselves are fine, but the B port reads high...

You sure that's not just bbq/meat drippings?

Just put two butts on based on your timeline ? Which was easier...BGE or The Bull?

New 700 owner here. Last weekend I cooked 6 racks of baby back ribs. Everything turned out great. Meat was beyond falling off the bone. My question is, some of the ends of my rib racks were extending past the drip pan. Is that a problem? Do I need to be overly concerned cooking food if...

I cooked 6 racks last weekend and would have had to overlap racks to fit any more on the main racks.

I had read the company background but never seen either of the owners. Seems a very stand up guy. Not everyone can display empathy, especially at that level. Makes me feel even better about having given Rec Tec my business...which freight company is delivering Tuesday!
