Bull Inner Lid Drip Shield sketch?

Yep! As long as the powder coat isn’t compromised, that shouldn’t be too much of an issue. Even though it’s very little, you would still have a tiny bit of galvanic corrosion between an aluminum drip diverter and the stainless steel fasteners in the presence of any juices (electrolytes), though. That’s why I slightly prefer the stainless steel.

Agreed.. The stainless screws on aluminum is the classic error people make on material selection. But, I would be ok with a mild steel drip diverter too.

You should be able to mitigate it and reduce any reaction. As long as there is no actual contact, it should be fine. RTV can be used to create a washer to prevent the two metals from touching each other.

Steel would be best, but bending steel can be difficult which is why a lot of folks are using aluminum carpet trim.

A simple strip of steel sheet metal should work. Easy to bend. This thing doesn't have to be super sturdy.

Agreed- proper application of RTV would mitigate that. And the reaction between the aluminum diverter and the stainless steel fasteners is fairly minimal- unlike if one used a steel diverter and aluminum fasteners (the size of the cathode vs. the anode matters).

For what it’s worth, I contacted RT regarding a completely different question, and they strongly hinted that they might be selling their stainless steel drip diverter in the future. Right now, however, all RT-1250 parts are going into the RT-1250s.

Hello everyone. I’m new to the forum, so forgive me if this has already been posted, but the guy in the below video fabricates and sells grease diverters for recteq grills like the 340, 590, and 700, as well as sliding second racks. He has several videos illustrating how to install these items as well, good stuff.
