The last two Smokers I purchased from RT were discontinued shortly after I bought them. Not very pleased with RT right now.....

Did basically the same thing. It was froze solid. I had to take vice grips to the point it bent the shape of the auger attachment. I also used water in the fire pot to leach back into the tube the auger sits in. Beat it with a hammer and just messed with it for hours and it finally came loose. It is like concrete. I try to keep it clean now but it is a bad design and hard to service.
I spent the weekend cleaning it again. My motor, auger, and the white (teflon I guess) spacer thingy are all lose now. I am a little nervous using it now as it does not feel solid.
