Thanks for the reply. No ive never cooked this type of meat before. I reviewed a few online recommendations from various grill chefs and then followed their instructions. I failed somewhere along the way…or, the cut of meat was a poor choice.

Hi. How do I cleanse the remaining pellets out of the hopper after cooking has been completely ? I dont see an easy way to pull them all out.
im in florida and not sure I want them left in there after cooking with all the heat and humidity.

Thanks for the replies. Recteq replied to my question and says to have the lid closed. I’m still confused by this.. why risk the lid pop ? I’ve seen some videos of some lid pops that look none too fun. I’m just curious why recteq would recommend the lid being shut..seems against conventional...

do I start it with the lid up or down ? The Recteq videos sometimes show it down.
however… I have seen other videos saying never start a pellet grill with the lid down as it may explode.
