Just ordered an RT-340. Got tired of buying controllers for my traeger and still wouldn't maintain a steady temp. Our son has had a Rectec for some time and from what he's told me about the performance of his I decided the fight with the Traeger was over. He also referred me to this forum.

Congratulations! If you want steady temps you bought the right brand. Here is a graph of the first 12 hours of my last brisket cook On my RT700 Can’t get much more steady than that. Enjoy!

Congratulations on your new grill and welcome from South Central TN!!

My RecTeq stays very steady to the temp I set - Love it!

I expect to see some good tater recipes for our smokers with you aboard!

The rec tec pellets seem to be the answer to a steady temp. We aren't too adventuresome on tater recipes: microwave baked, mashed or twice baked. I might try the twice baked in the grill sometime.
