I have a small pork butt that I’m gonna be smoking a few hours then I’m gonna put it in a crockpot for 6-8 hours. I’ve been reading about this and I wanted to try it out. I’ve got my pb injected and about to start seasoning. I’ll let ya know how this turns out. 🤞🏻

I've used that technique in a very modified way to cook brats and then hold them before eating in a crockpot. Are you planning to use a braising liquid in the crockpot after smoking the butt?

I’m gonna add a little apple juice and maybe a splash of apple cider vinegar. When it’s done I’ll be putting some meat sauce all over it. Excited about this one

Smoked for three hours and kept in the crockpot on high for four hours. It’s one of the best pork butts I’ve had. Super tender, plenty of smoke flavor.

You mention putting "meat sauce" on the finished pork, what's that?
1/2 cup vinegar sauce
1 cup hickory bbq sauce
1 cup ketchup
1 cup honey
1 cup corn syrup
Combine and warm and pour over pulled meat for moisture and some sweetness. It’s amazing in taste.

I'll smoke a couple of boneless chuck roasts for 2-3 hours and finish them in the InstantPot. It saves a lot of time and pellets. It's just the wife and I and if I'm gonna do a pork butt, I'll do 4 of them at a time. When they're done, I shred them and seal them in the Foodsaver and put the packages in the freezer.
