Bull Sawdust-like Residue

I did the burn-in for the smoker today and when it was done the inside was covered in what looked like very fine sawdust. Is this typical? Attached picture so you can see what I'm talking about.

I have the same issue. I have messaged a bunch of YouTubers and all said it is typical for Rec Tec and no one seemed worried about it. I called Rec Tec and they acknowledged it, they advised me to not clean the ash in the bottom as much and it should help as the ash in the belly will give it something to stick to...It really hasn’t improved on mine yet. I have used a variety of pellets including Rec Tecs and have similar results. It is my only complaint w the Bull.

It’s ash, when you start cooking, grease will stick to the walls of the grill and the ash will as well.

most will line the grates with bacon strips on the initial cook and it will coat the grill. Bonus is you get bacon !
