Ahh yes! Another weekend of pulled pork and football. GO ND! ☘☘☘

Going to be getting these two 5 pounders ready for some of my bourbon candy. Will pair it with some homemade smoked pork and beans, some slaw and some good ol mustard potatoe salad.. going to be a great long weekend...

Have a wonderful and blessed weekend everyone and stay safe. Much love to the RT FAMILY!!

Haha I definitely will be..

No I haven't... believe it or not iam an recovering alcoholic hahaha... so I get my food drunk now lol...

But bourbon and whiskey were my jam back in the day and it sounds like I would have loved it...

Ndfan... sounds like you will be “eating good in the neighborhood”!!! I also want to thank you for the way you acknowledged your weakness/kryptonite. Honest posts and a clear understanding of what to stay away from becomes the shield we can carry to take on the “beast” we call life. Further, ’owning’ up to it is helpful for all of us that are fighting our own demons. (Sorry, I know it’s close to Halloween). Thank you for your service and please continue to be the lighthouse’s beacon that keeps us from running aground.

Thank you for the kind words sir. It definitely hasn't been without it challenges to stay sober. I started drinking when I was around 13/14 and finally was able to kick it at age 33ish, I think haha...drank alot of brain cells away so memory isn't the greatest...but iam 42 now. So lot of years in the bottle...

But I can now be around it without getting the grumbling whiskey demon knock on the door and wanting to throw down hahah...

But I say to ANYONE who is battling an addiction, if I can do it anyone can. Some addiction are tougher, i know but you can and you will kick the beast....

Alright so I kicked things off at 130 am and here we are at 830 am. And suuuueeewweee are these babies looken fine! They are turning that beautiful mahogany color like they are supposed to and right on time too, right at that 160 mark they just pop with color.

So once I hit that 165 mark I'll start the second phase of this cook, braising.
