hard time getting over 470°

It could be a few things but generally it's the pellets, I fired my Bull up the other day and did a full temp run, I had some Pit Boss Fruit blend in at first and put some Pit Boss Classic blend on top, I wasn't going to use my expensive pellets. The grill took 40 minutes to reach 597 degrees and then the temperature dropped to under 530 degrees, I'm assuming the different pellets cause this as the 40 minutes it ran was about the amount of fruit pellets that were in the hopper.I would try changing the pellets and if that doesn't work give RecTec a call.

I have the same problem and have been using the RT blend pellets. When I called RT they initially suggested that I pull the temp probe slightly away from the Inner wall. I did that with no change in performance. When I called again they sent me a new temp. probe and a new PID. I have not installed them yet because it’s not an easy fix on a 590 when your 79 and not very flexible.
