I am doing my FIRST cook on my Dual Fire 1200. I have two temp Probes in the same butt and one is registering at 151° the other at 164°. My instant read is closer to the 164°. Is there a fix or do I have to go to customer service already? Thanks.
You can do an adjustment. There are recteq Videos to calibrate your probes. Before you do that you might want to check where the probes plug into the controller. Sometimes the nut that fastens it to the receiver is loose and that can throw the temp reading off.
In my opinion, two proteins rarely cook in the same time or track with the same temps. In addition, the only way to get the same reading is to put the probes in the same exact place and cross your fingers they are both in calibration.
