I was running my Bull a couple days ago and noted that the hot sun was directly hitting the LCD screen, so I laid a glove on the shelf to shield it. Recently, I had to send my Thermoworks Smoke remote thermometer in for screen replacement, because I had left it in the sun for many cooks and the numbers were completely faded out to the point it was totally unreadable.

Should I be protecting the screen from direct sun? Anyone see any fading of the LCD screen from direct sunlight?

Yes. These screens need to be protected from direct sun light for extended periods of time. Direct sun light will damage the crystals and make them inoperable
