Stampede control mount upgrade?

There is a product sold on Etsy that makes the controls mounted at an angle that makes viewing alot better. Does anyone see a negative about installing this? I would probably want to put a gasket or a thin beat of silicone around it to make sure it's water tight.

If your grill sees any rain, this is a really bad idea. Innovative, but looks like a waste of money to solve a problem that doesn't exist, I've never had any problem with the stock location of the display

At first blush it looks like a convenient modification. But beyond that, it seems to have little appeal. And personally I don't use that screen terribly often. The app and all of its questionable iterations, is what I use, for the most part, to start, set temperature, time and shut off my grill.

I know the original 340’s cover would have trouble with that, darn thing fit like OJ’s glove.
