Stampede Coming back to temp.

I recently bought a RT590. I have done about 15 cooks with it , both low and slow and higher temps. The only thing I have noticed is that when I open the lid to bast or turn or something like that, the grill significantly overshoots the set temp and takes some time to come back down. Is that normal on a Recteq?

That is normal. The controller is trying to quickly get back to the set temp and will overshoot then settle. Don’t stress too much about temp fluctuations it happens in every cooker. If it goes really high and stays there you may other issues but as long as it settles back down you’ll be fine.

Normal, minimize the duration and frequency the lid is open.
