I received the RT-700 about two weeks ago, ordered without the comp cart, and put it together. The first weekend cook-out was canceled due to circumstances beyond my control. So there sat the smoker not being used, while I racked us some OT on the diverted weekend schedule...

I pulled the trigger and ordered the comp cart several days ago and got to swapping the legs for the cart yesterday. Easy job, you'd think. Eight leg bolts, all stainless steel, to remove and attach the competition cart. Three of the bolts galled and seized and had to be cut off to complete the installation.

My advice is to get the comp cart prior to grill assembly. If the cart is even a remote possibility down the road, use some anti-seize on the hardware to try to prevent the galling and cutting of bolts. The good thing is that the hardware is a fairly soft stainless steel so cutting is not too difficult. But the possible damage to the steel underframe's painted finish is stomach-turning.
