So I just did the burn in on my new 1250 , after it was done and I opened the door it appears that the inside of the grill is completely covered in what appears to be sawdust . Is this normal or am I missing something
 
And keep cookin’ it will be just fine.
 
Yes, in the burn in process (at high heat) you're likely to blow around a little more ash than normal. It should be fine for real cooking. Also, some pellets generate more ash than others. It's another highly debated topic of what brand of pellets to use.
