Has anyone had any experience with single WiFi connections (Spectrum specifically). Their manual says that the 'smart' router will determine which band to use for the specific device but thats obviously a problem if it 'smartly' chooses 5.0ghz for the RT and its not supported.
Thanks for all the responses here. @padlin00 I didn't even ever check the temps to be honest. I didn't even put the probes in, I was strictly going off of time which may have been my problem, I guess. @1MoreFord are you thinking maybe the thermometer for the 'actual' temp may be off? Hmmm. I''m...
Second cook on the grill went with a couple spare ribs. I followed a 'Johnny Trigg' method youtube video and I think it ended up really good. The racks I got had some meat/fat on the bone side kind of running diagonally so it made it really hard to get rid of the membrane because it wouldnt just...
Ah, that sucks. It does make me wonder what lets them qualify a brisket as 'prime' but being that they're 3x less expensive than the competition I can complain too much. Sounds like the one you grab was worse. This one probably would have been fine if I left it alone but the layer of fat was...
Just got done with my first cook/eat/cleanup of a brisket and I'm very satisfied with the results, even though I made a few mistakes. It honesty seems like they didnt cost me with the end result I got. I followed some videos I've been watching on youtube. It was a 13.5lb prime brisket from...
First 'seasoning' cook was a success. Apologies, no pics, because the camera on my phone is messed up and I'm too stubborn to buy a new one (other pics were from wife's phone). I'm so impressed so far. I went with 10 bone-in chicken thighs just because I watched the recteq video on burn-in/first...
Update: had to bite the bullet and assemble it myself since nieghbor buddies were out of town. Wasn't so bad but I probably took longer than an hour. One thing thats a little bit of a bummer is I can't connect to the app because my router only has on band (5.0ghz) set up. I may be able to mess...
That looks awesome. I've been a little delayed due to March Madness and also not being able to find my tools so if I can't dig through and find it unpacking I'll be heading to Home Depot in a bit to get the 17mm socket wrench. I feel like I could maybe pull off what's needed with pliers but it'd...
The eagle has landed.. I'm pretty impressed by this so far. Granted, I haven't put it together yet but the packaging looks great and it came so fast. One of the hinges was slightly poking through the box but it doesn't appear damaged or anything. Looking good so far. Going to finish up some work...
Ah that's good to know.. guess I'll put it on Sadie's pee spot in the grass then. Also, the eagle has landed.. I'm too impatient to wait for my neighbors help so we'll see how this goes. May get a hand from my wife.
Haha, that's the plan right there. Sober is a relative term. So, today is the day. Haven't received the 'hour out' call yet but hoping it happens earlier than later.
Here are a couple pics of my deck. It's actually a little wider than I thought, maybe 7 feet. I'm thinking I should be able to...
Yeah, I figured I'd file the sense of accomplishment from lifting it myself under 'not worth it'.
Update: I received a text to schedule shipment this morning and was able to schedule for tomorrow! It's between 7:00am-7:00pm (LOL) but I love that they give you the option to have them call an...
Thanks for the replies, and the advice on having a helping hand around. I have some new neighbors I've been planning to go to Jon G's BBQ (in Peachland, NC. Look this place up if you are a Texas person in NC and have trouble finding brisket) with that I'm sure will be interested in helping me...
I finally pulled the trigger yesterday on a the RT-700 and I'm really pumped about it. I went with the advice of some on here and am waiting to use it until I purchase any mods. I did go ahead and grab the cover and 100lbs of pellets. The coolers were tempting but even at a discount those things...
