    Bull Too much smoke

They were Cabela's/Bass Pro Shops bourbon brown sugar bbq pellets in case anyone is interested.

Good idea, I'll try that. Got some Cabella's pellets from my neighbor that I don't normally use so maybe that had something to do with it.

    Bull Too much smoke

Hey guys, I have an RT680 that I upgraded with the wifi controller earlier this year. It has been great but I've noticed that when I'm smoking in the 225 to 230 range it smokes a lot, like constantly. Prior to the upgrade I'm pretty sure it smoked and then the smoke stopped, then smoked and...

    Bull Jerky at 200 degrees

Ah, I thought Low was 200...good to know it's 180, thank you.

    Bull Jerky at 200 degrees

I think my bull goes down to 200 lowest temp. Anybody here have success with jerky at that temp or am I better off dusting off my dehydrator? I think most places recommend 180 or lower. I don't really want to fiddle with feed rates.

Bull 680 how to get the wheels off

So to answer my own question...it was a pain. If there is no rust you should be able to grab onto the outside ring of the wheel enclosure and turn counter-clockwise (per Rectec support). In my case, no dice, that didn't work...even with penetrating oil and a big ol pair of pliers the outer...

Bull 680 how to get the wheels off

Can anybody tell me if there's a trick to getting the small swivel wheels off? I just received a replacement set of wheels and I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the small wheels off. There's a 11/16 nut that it looks like I have to get to but the bottom of the leg and the top of...

    Bull Leaving the RT-700 outside.

My ring got rusty too...I was quite surprised since it's stainless steel, well at least it's not magnetic. Other stainless parts like screws and the horns and the logo are just fine.

    Bull RT680 won't start

The new controller is in, the new stainless shelf is in, the grill is sandblasted and re-painted and looks like almost new, and most importantly....it works again! First cook of its reincarnated life tomorrow. :) Thank you to Rectec for their great customer service in helping me restore most...

    Bull Leaving the RT-700 outside.

My 680 was outside in south Florida for the better part of 4 years under our eaves. Rusted like crazy and eventually the controller gave out and it wouldn't even start. Thankfully Rec Tec was great about replacing the controller and some other parts that had become flakey under warranty. I...

    Bull RT680 won't start

Just got off the phone with them. They were going to send me a free replacement controller...then I inquired about the upgraded controller and they're doing that half price for me. What great customer service!

    Bull RT680 won't start

I'm pretty sure I saw "U7.07" every time it booted up...I'm guessing it's a firmware rev. The only reason I'd pay $99 is to get the new controller with wifi and the 2 probes which I would have had no idea about had I not had this issue.

    Bull RT680 won't start

Nope nothing...she's dead. The display flashes "rec" then "r680" then "U7.07" then nothing. Now normally at this point I press the ON button but it doesn't do anything. I can't get into test mode either (up button + extreme smoke button). Like I said, it started flaking out the last time I...

    Bull RT680 won't start

Hi all, my several year old RT680 will no longer start. It flashes through the model and firmware rev but when I press the ON button it doesn't start up. The power is there because the interior light turns on and off but no luck getting the grill to turn on. Last time I used it I had a heck...
