    The Leader Board?

IMO, that so-called "feature" is extremely inaccurate. I compared my actual hours (recorded separately) to the "leaderboard" and found that it didn't record over 2/3 of my hours. I wish they would spend their time and effort on something far more important like making the app work when it...

Ink bird vs other WiFi units

I have ThermoWorks, Inkbird and Meater devices with no connection issues on any of them as well as the Recteq 700. I have always had separate 2.4GHz & 5.0GHz SSID's) on a mesh network. The closest access point is probably about 25-30 feet away with at least one exterior wall in between. The...

    New RT-700 owner

I have a 700 and a Bullseye, both on a patio under a tall deck with an under deck ceiling. Also, a sliding barn door shield behind the smoker/grills for shelter against blowing rain/snow. I'm in the Kansas City area, so we get a lot of temperature extremes, usually below freezing during the...

Bull Bull RT-700 and mesh wifi networks

I have a 700, Google mesh router and Linksys Velop mesh with separate SSID's, two for 2.4GHz and multiple 5.0GHz. It's been that way since purchase several years ago with no major issues. Initially, the RecTeq app disconnected occasionally, but doesn't anymore.

    Porter Road?

I used Porter Road a couple years ago, primarily due to receiving a $100 gift certificate. I ordered a number of specialty beef and pork cuts. All were great, although they are pricey. I'm located in Missouri. The shipping was free, being that the order was over $100. The shipment was...

    Firepot Vac

I've been using a Rigid ash vac (similar to a bucket head vac) for the last several years. The description is "Rigid 5 gal. Ash Vacuum for Wood Pellet Stoves and Fireplaces". It was around $100 a few years ago. It's now around $130. It works well, although like a lot of others, the filter...

    Recteq app—go figure!

Similar experience, now retired. Chemical manufacturing, electrical engineering, server/network administration and programming. 15 AP's, all beam forming. I don't normally have connection issues anymore with the RT app, although I've entered complaints with RecTeq for years now about their...

    Recteq app—go figure!

I don't have any issues with the RT app disconnecting anymore, although the app itself is still not quite as functional as I would hope. I also have ThermoWorks, Inkbird and Meater devices with no issues disconnecting those either. Due to having so many home automation devices, security system...

RT-1250 App temp chart not working

As usual, the app temp chart doesn't work on holidays. IMO, it shouldn't rely on their servers to function. It also ceases to work on long cooks, losing data. Due to that, I don't depend on the Recteq temp chart. I primarily rely on other temp probes, like Thermoworks, Inkbird or Fireboard.

    Bull "Preferred" Pellets

I primarily use Lumberjack. I usually make my own blends, but they're similar to OHC for Beef and MHC for Pork & Chicken. Lumberjack doesn't have Alder, so I use Bear Mountain Alder for fish and seafood. I usually go in on a bulk buy for Lumberjack to get the price/pound to around $0.37.

    More smoke flavor

I get plenty of smoke by using good pellets (Lumberjack), low temperature and using a smoke generator like Smokai (Recteq 700 plus Smokai 1 liter filled with pellets and chunks).

    Bull App update for Android??

I noticed the change recently as well. My app version is 1.7.1 (350). It updated on April Fool's Day. So far, I'm not impressed with the update. I'm not crazy about the graph update and now appear to have a new malfunction. Almost every time I use it, there's no WiFi connection. I've...

Stampede Adding a Camp Chef Sidekick to a 590 - walkthrough with detailed pictures

Looks good. I replaced my former cedar decking with IPE as well. It's now about ten years old and holding up well against my big dogs. I also installed an under deck ceiling about five years ago where I can use my smokers without being out in the rain (or snow).

    Little more smoke profile

A smoke generator will get more smoke than a tube and can be refilled easily. Smoke Daddy and Smokai have varying sizes of generators among others. I use Smokai. Smoke Daddy doesn't recommend using pellets, chips/chunks only, whereas Smokai can use pellets/chips/chunks. For cold smoking...

    Cooking pellets

I've been using LumberJack and my last purchase was around $0.35/pound, any mix of wood, 20 or 40 pound bags. BBQ Pellets Online has 1/4, 1/2 or 1 ton shipments or "group buys" which are 1 ton split four ways, 1/4 ton each, which of course you could split even more on your own. The individual...
