Trailblazer Pellets Burning Back through Auger

I will. I don’t think it could be the fire pot, because I vacuum it out after every 30ish hours of cooking. 😕 It’s good to know I’m not alone. I’ll update once I find out the issue!

I have not. I thought I would try here first to see if anyone had suggestions, so I could tell them what I’ve tried when I call. I look at it sort of like calling IT. 😂

The fire isn’t happening when it’s cooking on high. It’s happening when I drop the temp to 200-250 to let it cool down prior to shutting down. Perhaps I didn’t explain as well as I thought. My apologies!

I initially did have the probe hole closed, with the same results. I tried opening it, thinking it was perhaps a case of not enough oxygen. That didn’t help. Also of note is that I do keep my smoker in my garage, so it isn’t exposed to the elements or weather conditions.

I also own a 340, hence the post on the 340 forum.

It’s not a bullseye. That’s the 380. 😉 Anyway, there’s a seal you can buy that goes around the edge of the lip of the lid that’s supposedly helpful. It isn’t.

I’ve been having a consistent problem. My smoker does fantastic smoking, but the minute I take it above 275, I start to burn back into the auger as soon as it begins to cool down (when the fan kicks in). Here’s what I’ve tried to remedy: •ensure smoker vents are clear •clean out barrel and fire...

    The Stall...

One time I had a 4.5 pound butt take 18.5 hours. The meat does what the meat wants. I’ve found that I have to wrap some, but not all.

Trailblazer Are you happy with 340?

I love my 340; I did get a bullseye as a companion, as well.
