2023 RT Academy

I just got the email too...tempting and right down the road from here.
Highly recommend it. The wife and I both attended December 2020-we had a blast! The discount on recteq products while you are there is not shabby either, so that alone has value if you are looking to purchase something. Here is what I came home with in 2020.

Attended April 2022 with @Lager1829 , and I can also say it was a blast. It is expensive to be sure, but you eat/drink very well. Watched the video Jody released on Thursday afternoon. They should be finishing up right about now. The rib-eyes they were cooking on Funday Friday, looked amazing. Grill On !!

Damn- looks like Evans 3 day is already sold out when I go to purchase ticket. Only one day event has openings. To far for me to go from WI for just one day. Recently retired and this would have been a good retirement trip for me. Will have to wait for next one.

So let me ask...

For those that have attended, it sounds like fun, but is it "Wait until the slots come out in the middle of the night once a year to sign up" fun? Is it worth it for those that attended and actually have some time in front of various cookers and fundamentally know how to cook?

Back in the day, a very long time ago, we used to stand in line overnight to wait for concert tickets to go on sale. I can't say that any of those events were worth the pain, suffering, and expense. Did those of you that have attended have a "take away" or was it just an expensive party weekend?

I have always wondered about a lot of these "BBQ Schools" from Myron Mixon, Harry Soo, et al. They all sound like fun, but there are cheaper ways to have fun cooking without having a takeaway of knowledge.
