Wow! That looks very interesting. I’m guessing you had to drill the mounting holes in the barrel of the BFG, but that should be doable with a drill and appropriate bit + hole saw. I may have to look into this smoke generator as with the proper mounting hardware, I could use it on both the RT-340 and the gas grill (via the rotisserie mount).Just added a Smokai Magnum 3L Smoke Generator to my BFG going to be doing a full packer brisket over the weekend let’s see the difference… wish me luck

“Lacking compared to “? and I think it’s a losing proposition for the mfr. Piss off the user because you didn’t mention a wsm, maybe piss off a mfr because you compared yourself to them.I do wish pellet smokers vendors would put a warning about the lack of smoke flavor on the box or their web sites, sure would save a lot of folks grief who expected more then these things deliver.
I’m thinking you miss the point. A pellet ‘smoker’ (or a stick burner for that matter) should produce smoke. We know a Chevy is not a Mercedes but a smoker should smoke. I bought a BFG and while I love the convenience it is a bit of a pisser to have to modify an expensive piece of equipment so that it performs adequately. I am hoping the Smokai solves the problem otherwise I am stuck with an expensive outdoor oven.“Lacking compared to “? and I think it’s a losing proposition for the mfr. There’s no warning on a Chevy that it’s not a Mercedes or can’t tow like an international harvester.

No I get it, I think most people got the analogy I was going for. How about ElCamino vs F350? Both American “trucks”, you bought one but actually needed the other to tow your yacht. Your BFG works 100% as designed. You’re throwing a blower on your ElCamino, so it can do the work the F350 does off the showroom floor. So I rambled, you’re no more satisfied now vs before. But if throwing a mod on there gets you to where you need to be that’s better than dreading every bbq for the foreseeable future.I’m thinking you miss the point. So, are you saying that I need a ElCamino for good BBQ?No I get, I think most people got the analogy I was going for. How about ElCamino vs F350? and yes, it's actually an ElCamino - so don't try an call me out on that technicality........
I am not much of a ‘handy fellow’. Was it hard to attach?
I would recommend instead of chips, use wood chunks and charcoal. I have the smokedaddy magnum PIG on my Bull which is esstenially the same thing you have. When I use chips, I tend to get too much white smoke. My smoke generator works best getting white hot charcoals filled up 50% or more and then add a wood chunk or two.....rinse and repeat. Just a suggestion but play around with it. Just what I and others have found what works best for quality extra smoke.Yea it is upsetting but I really needed something convenient (pellet smoker) with the space for large cooks.. this will make it a beast though.. and I’ll only be using wood chips with the generator so I’m hoping for a better smoke flavor
