I'm getting a RECTEC for Christmas want to get on here and learn all I can. I am stuck trying to figure out if I want a RT700 or BFG2500. Thanks for your help.

For what might be considered routine family use the 700 should be plenty. If you legitimately plan to do a lot of LARGE cooks or run a feed joint then the BFG might be more appropriate. Look at some of the pictures members have posted of their cooks and you'll most often see a lot of uncovered grate room.

Tell us more about how you plan on using your new pellet grill and we can probably provide more advice.

As @Uncle Bob has mentioned, the BFG2500 is going to be a HUGE grill and unless you're cooking huge cooks all the time (being from Texas you probably are ) then I would probably go with RT700.

I too have the Rec Tec Bull and have been more than pleased with it.
