I set the recteq on the granite platform today and I'm pleased with the results. I was extremely pleased with the measurements I took as the shelf was exactly level with the adjoining granite....
however, I DIDN'T take into account setting the recteq up on "feet" to allow breathing room...
I ordered 4 extra feet with the 3 that go with the Big Joe. Will get them situated this weekend.
Metal studs for framing material. I forget the gauge that was used, it wasn't the worst, but definitely not the best. I would have preferred heavier, but my contractor assured me it would do...
Still under construction with a week or two left to completion.
Once set up here it will be a tad bit higher than the original cart height. Nothing unbearable though.
Left enough area here to set a Big Joe 3 next to the recteq. Big joe has to sit on small "feet" to allow for airflow...
I'm just about done with an outdoor kitchen build out and plan on removing the legs from the 1250 and setting it up on a granite shelf. Any recommendations on a high heat, non slip pad that I can set it on?
After assembling my 1250 I was wondering if you have access to the back of yours. In the event you need to service the hopper would it require lifting the bull back out or do you have an access door behind it? Also does the built in allow for enough airflow to the hopper's fan?
Just completed...
Congrats!
I JUST received mine as well. Unfortunately my back patio is currently under construction so I won't have a spot for it for another week or so. Fingers crossed I can break it in with a Christmas Prime Rib.
Thank you all for this thread. I was able to closely monitor my shipping to assure I didn't have the same issues.
I've been calling Estes periodically and today they finally said it was out for delivery. I also received a text saying it was out for delivery. Estes leans on the shipment...
Thanks so much for the quick and thorough response!
Glad to see that the built in can be done with a little creativity (and a large pasta sauce jar lol).
I was already looking to have the rounded end bar similar to yours and that EVO blends right in. The cost would relegate me to axing...
SO MANY QUESTIONS!!!!
I'm in the mist of doing an outdoor kitchen build myself. Just ordered a 1250 but conceded that I wouldn't be able to build it in, and I would just have it parked next to my L shaped kitchen. After a search here I found your pics and I am impressed as your kitchen fits...
Thanks for this post. Ordered the 700 yesterday because like you, I thought the 1250 just had an extra shelf. With the various differences, I've cancelled and reordered the 1250.
