    Meater Block question

    Yeah the meater block doesn't have a charging circuit going to the batteries, but you can run it plugged into the wall with the USB power supply. Batteries run a long time though, I change mine maybe twice a year. Also of note - Traeger bought meater! Some new stuff coming out from them around...

    There's a difference between a feature and a benefit... If a grill is able to hold +/-5* without the addition of a more expensive variable speed auger and controller you really have to ask yourself if the extra cost actually BENEFITS your cooks, vs just another line on a spec page.

    Not upgrading from a Rec Tec, but rather a Traeger Tailgater, yeah convert here ;). That Traeger has actually served me really well despite its limitations and very rare but present WILD temperature swings. Been looking for something for a while that I can build in with the hopper on the back...
