    Stampede Alright fellas! Pellets…GO!

Not hugely experienced here as I'm still new to pellet grilling, but I've tried Traeger pellets and the Rec Teq blend, and found the Rec Teq pellets get up to higher temps much more quickly and burn with far less ash.

    New recteq app is out

Sweet! App downloaded last night automatically to my iPhone. Nice, clean look--and I like the slider control for the temp MUCH better!

    Stampede Shop vac

I just bought a $29 Stinger shop vac at Lowe’s. It’s a bit klutzy because I have to tote it around (no wheels, not very tall), but it gets the job done—and best of all, it’s cheap! BTW, I found I get a LOT less ash with the Rec Teq pellets than I do with Traeger (those are the only two brands...

Wonder if neighbors are jealous or just f'in impressed

Sssssssmokin! Had an encounter in my own neighborhood when I was grilling some steaks on the Bull. Gentleman walked his dog past my house and asked, “How do you like the Rec Teq?” Could tell there was a twinge of jealousy in his eye! I think I’m the only one in the ‘hood who has one! At any...

    Bull Dirty Temperature Probe Question

Yep! Got a shop vac and I give the Bull a full vacuum before each use (but then again, I’m compulsive about that sort of thing). Cleaning the probe definitively seemed to help—I did a high-heat cook with some burgers on my Grill Grates and was able to get up to temperature in about 35 minutes.

Bull RT-700 Grill Cover a Piece Of Garbage

Got the covert for my Bull last week and haven’t had any trouble. Takes a little trial and error to figure out the best way to get it on and off, but after that it’s smooth sailing. Fits like a glove!

    Connecting Wi-Fi on 5G system

The Rec Teq piggybacks off of whatever wireless network your mobile device is using, so the easiest way around this is to make sure that your mobile device connects to the 2.4GHz frequency of your dual-band network. Some routers support creating separate networks for 5GHz and 2.4GHz, but if...

    Bull Dirty Temperature Probe Question

I’ve only had my Bull for a few weeks (after years of being a gas griller), so I’m still working out how to tame this beast. One thing that happened was that after a few cooks, the Bull seemed to get slow in reaching higher temps—it could take an hour to reach 500. On a previous post, a user...

    Covers, yea or nay?

Just got the RT cover for my bull, and it fits like a glove—but since it’s only been a few days, I can’t speak as to whether it’ll trap moisture. I keep the Bull in my screened back porch so it’s got shelter, but the Florida rain blows around a lot so I got the cover to keep the gusts from...

    Favorite Barbecue Beer!?

Dragon’s Milk can be deadly! If your local liquor emporium carries Heavy Seas, keep a look out for their Imperial Peanut Butter porter (seasonal). I think you’d enjoy that as well!

    Favorite Barbecue Beer!?

Used to drink Shiner by the pitcher back at Texas A&M—Double Dave’s Wild & Wooly Wednesday! I’d say ah, the memories, but some of those memories got a bit fuzzy after all that beer…

Bull Long time to reach searing temp - any advice?

Sweet! Not bad for fifty bucks, either. I checked out some videos and swapping looks pretty easy—will give that a try. Thanks for the tip!

Bull Long time to reach searing temp - any advice?

New guy here! I’ve had my Bull for a few weeks and have done some pretty amazing ribs, chicken and turkey breast on it so far. Recently, though, I picked up some grill grates to do some reverse searing. I tried it with a couple of sirloin steaks that came out absolutely AMAZING—but the kicker...
