    Making biscuits on grill mats or tray is a great use of extra space while you're cooking other stuff. They come out great. Just have to adjust timing depending on temp.

    Just wrap a couple layers of aluminum foil around the outside of your bucket, then slide it off and put it inside your bucket. Done.

    Covers, yea or nay?

    I cover mine but use a 3rd party cover. I also found that my grill would be wet under the cover after rain and I would have to take teh cover off after the rain was done to let it dry out. I think the cover for the 680/700 just has too many seams and is too tight so it is very prone to leaking...

    hmm, I have an rt-680 and I don't remember putting pads under the horns. And they never get hot.

    Thanks. I got that one and it works great. I think the problem with the recteq one is that there are so many seams in order to form fir the unique shape and they all start to stretch and leak. I even sprayed my seams with flex seal in an attempt to save it but it didn't help. Now it is in the...

    Bull Can't Smoke Ribs; Science Doesn't Work Anymore

    I have a similar experience when doing pork shoulder on my recteq. It took 14 hours for a 6.5 lb bone in shoulder last weekend.It took me 12 hours for a 5lb one a couple weeks before. Seems a bit long. I do baby back ribs with Raichlen's modified 2-1-1 method and they come out great, though.

    I've had a rt680 for 5 years and had the custom cover from the start. Yes, it is a pain to get on and off but I get it on and off. It does leak. And the RT-680 is notorious for the paintjob bubbling up on it anyway. Having it on is still better than off for rain, I just have to remember to take...
