Tell you what, I’ve been eyeing grill grates for a while but when I got the 700 I finally got some. Very nice char very fast.

So I tried back at 30… big mistake. Turned it all back down and back at 15. Have set to 375 For some wings, but every 5 min or so I have to go lift lid because temp keep going up. After I’m done with this cook I’m going to let it all cook off for the night and will turn back on tomorrow and...

Yea it’s 3rpm. I turned it all off, will set back to 30 and turn back and see how long it takes to get to 500. I’m thinking maybe I’m supposed to only turn down to 15/20 for low cooks and keep at 30 to grill?

Okay, got my new auger motor in, Turned feed rate down to 15, appears to be taking just as long to reach 500. Do I only turn feed rate down for low smoke??

Installing my 3rpm auger today… been reading a lot of people doing the 0-400 wings without mod, has anyone done it with mod? Any changes to times? Was planning on doing wings tonight. PS: I ordered auger while waiting for my 700 to arrive so I only have one cook under belt so far. Thanks.

I just ordered the grill gates and the 3rmp motor! Put my 700 together last night, will do burn in tomorrow and probably first cook tomorrow too.

I found this forum Saturday while looking up mods as I ordered my 700 last week (arrived today). I havn't even put it together yet as I'm at work still , and im already looking at getting the 3RPM motor. "chadinsc", with the 3RPM do you think a sear grate is even needed?
