I'm considering the RT 700 with Smoke Box

I was on the fence with the smoke box as well. I would like to do salmon also and went with the RT700 so I can add the Smoke Box later if I really wanted to. From what I have read for doing cold smoking most just do smoke tubes, put it in diag fan mode and let it go. Probably even add some ice...

Stampede Another "590 vs 700" Debate

I went with the 700 just for a little more space. Also I wanted to have the capability to add a Smoke Box, though I don't honestly know that I ever will add one. I also have a Blackstone for searing. So far I am happy with the 700 and don't wish that I went with the smaller 590.

    Req Teq App.

That the wifi only works with 2.4GHz wireless not 5GHz. See step 1: https://www.recteq.com/wifi-setup By no means am I saying it is the cause of all of this but it might be in some cases. Everyone has different technical abilities and this very well might go straight over someone's head. I...

I also am a Unifi user. UDM PRO as well with several Unifi Switches, UAP AC Pro, UAP AC LR and UAP-nanoHD. Also a few of their cameras. Much of my network is hardwired with CAT6 as possible with fiber runs to detached buildings. The nanoHD is in one of my garages which is where my RT 700 is...

    Bull Another RT-700 Order

Well yesterday's first cook was a complete failure. The RT wasn't to blame. I was getting things sorted out and my wife came out.... "Didn't I tell you we are going to _____'s for dinner?" So reset for tonight. Luckily I was just getting things out to make the brine at the time. The burn in...

Stampede Best way to store meats in the freezer

We normally buy a bunch of meat and then break it down into more serving size batches. A lot of time 2 - 4 pieces. We will season it, vac seal it and put it in the fridge for a day or two. Then we freeze. We found that seasoning and then going to the fridge for a day or two really allows the...

    Req Teq App.

It will be interesting once I start using the grill. It arrived Monday, I thought my first cook would have been yesterday but the wife had other plans. I just made up some brine and will put the chicken thighs in at noon and will fire it up for burn in just before dinner. I will try it out but I...

    Req Teq App.

Well I am so new to RecTeq that I haven't even fired up my grill for the first time yet. The RT700 has been around for a while. Has this always been an issue since they came out with the wifi control features I assume around when the 700 came out? I know it is also used in other grills like the...

Like I said they shouldn't push it as a production feature until it is ready. I am not making excuses for them and they should probably keep it beta until it is more reliable.

    Bullseye Best Grate for Bullseye?

This is a bit off topic but I will throw it out there. We are on our second Blackstone. We first bought a 17" for camping. We liked it but there were two problems. First off doing bigger cooks means you either cook one thing at a time or cook for one person at a time. You have space for a...

Not defending any side and I agree that if they say this is a feature to make their grill stand out above others, then it should work.... If it isn't there yet then it is beta. Now that said.... It is a bit of a trade off. This clearly is a cloud app. Our grills are reaching out to the cloud...

    Trailblazer Direct vs. indirect heat

It is in the middle of the 700 Bull as well as the 590 I would imagine. The difference is the heat deflector and drip pan that block a lot of the direct heat. The Bullseye just has a heat deflector.

Central PA - Possible RT 700 Purchase coming

Yeah that is the plan for me as well. Separate table that is. However, I also have seen some neat builds where people that got the competition cart used the original legs to build a cart. Since I have set of legs that would be easy to pull off. Build it as tall as you want. Added plus is that it...

    Stampede Interior temp

I also do Homebrewing and have a 50A 240V electric brewing system that I built which uses PID control. From a high level here is an example of how a PID system differs from a non PID. Think of something like a basic water heater. You have a thermostat set to lets say 160F. As it is heating...

Stampede What accessories do you use

Are you using the RT version of the top rack? I didn't order that thinking that there were cheaper options out there or other sizes. I like that idea of tossing a pan under the butt to catch the drippings. I did buy their mats and now see there are cheaper options there oh well.

    Stampede Questions Ribs/Filet Mignon/Beef Tenderloin

We did the same thing. I sold a large KitchenAid LP Grill and bought a RT-700. Now it just got here today and I just got done assembling it so we will see how it does. I did get the sear plates. They might work for beef but to be honest. I more got them because of reading about doing Pizza on...

    Inkbird IBBQ-4T WiFi Thermometer w/4 Probes - $50 w/coupon

Hmm I just ordered the TP MK4 and now this too. The MK4 is good for final checks. I was looking at their version of the Inkbird but wanted to see how the included probes did before dropping several hundred. This being just over $50 is in the range of, worth trying.

Got it all together. I am going to hold off for burn in and first cook till tomorrow though. We have Scouts tonight so I just don't have a lot of time unless I want to eat at midnight. I did call the customer service number. Actually I called them, he said I was breaking up, he called me...

Central PA - Possible RT 700 Purchase coming

I am 6'4" and I have read that the competition cart raises the grill a bit compared to the basic legs. I just got mine today and part way through assembling and it would be nice if it was a bit taller for me. Though in the end it probably doesn't matter all that much. If you are looking you are...

    Bull Another RT-700 Order

Driver pulled in at 11:30. Got most of it assembled. Up to the point of attaching the chimney and I had to get back to work. Well that and I bought some of that high temp tape for sealing the lid and wanted to put some on the chimney. So it was a good place to stop. I did think it was a bit...
