You might consider buying a standalone table that matches your requirements. We did this a ways back and found what as a kid I called a a TV Dinner Table.
Example: (not stainless)...
Yes, and No. Hear me out. In our house my wife and I are retired, and a grill of this size is better suited to larger jobs that a couple steaks or a rack of ribs, and the volume of fuel we use to generate the smoke is about as financially responsible as my purchase. We love the grill, so when...
The short time we had it up and running in Utah our smoke output was consistent, and massive. Since we've moved down here to N. FL it is wildly inconsistent. Turns out in a humid climate there are drastic differences in the moisture content of the pellets, as well as percentages of the wood...
Final update: no really. 19 months of ownership, and weekly if not more than weekly use. It continues to work as well as it did after a burn in, and a couple cooking sessions. The start up takes 4-6 times using it, but after those its been amazing.
A couple asides: it's always double covered...
We've owned the BFG for a year and it's going strong. Our Olde English Mastiff "Edna" is constantly helping clean the drip buckets (huge help). Since we've owned it I have cleaned the hotbox twice, and both times were somewhat a waste, as the hotbox burns so clean the small amount of ash is not...
I only read a few, but in my case, and on our grill (BFG), I tried one each direction, then asked for my wife's input. Mind you this purchase was a little offputting to her initially. She preferred horns down, both for lifting and closing the lid (at 5' tall). Now she gets testy if I decide to...
Update from North Florida. We've been here now since June 2021 and use the BFG multiple times weekly. Prior to that we used it for about a month in Utah. It sits under a large patio cover and we cover it when not in use, using the provided BFG cover.
As of yet we have not seen any rust on the...
We were effectively adown a month while moving to N, FL, but the day after our 28' trailer arrived with our household goods I unloaded only enough to get to the smoker so we could smoke that evening.
As to how we're liking it. My wife went from its a massive expense, to it being a valued...
It arrived on Monday the 19th, but the last mile carriers said they could not get to me for two weeks at the earliest (we're in the boondocks Utah), so I hooked up my trailer and went to pick it up. When I got there they hemmed and hawed, but after 30 minutes finally brought it out. The cheap...
Well the temperature went up a bit on the waiting thermometer, as we sold the Jim Bowie, and now we are grill-less until the BFG lands. A very weird feeling I must say.
In watching a handful of BFG (Bacon Feels Good) videos on YouTube I noticed one in particular, where the guy had to put heat-proof silicone on the grease collector, drops/chutes. His video showed them only being tacked on the corners. Are the grills now coming with silicone on both of these, or...
"click that buy button man. i wish i could afford a bfg"
The wife was not super happy with the price but did not push back, so it gets ordered today.
I've never let common sense or responsible actions stop me from my own stupidity, why start now?
